Rod Serial  # 059611

Took this rod for a lawn test this morning and I was really pleased. The rod throws both a Cortland 444  DT5F and  Cortland 444 DT6F easily. The DT5 would be my choice for tossing dries while the DT6 would slow the action down to make fishing nymphs a delight. The taper is patterned after Garrison's tapers  which have found acceptance by knowledgeable anglers world around.
This rod is a first utilizing the swelled butt capabilities of my new Morgan Handmill. The rod  also features a full wells grip of 6 1/2 " long composed of 14 rings for the superstitions among us.

Every years I build a rod to support Trout Unlimited activiiteis in Alberta. This rod is part of a series of tapers that started with a 7'6" 4 wt.. Taking a Garrison 7'3" taper, I stretched it to 7'6" and further modified the butt section to support the increased rod length. This rod  taper is a further extention of the taper into a 5 wt. in a 7'9" length.  Test cast it and I feel it works well with a 5 wt. although a 4 wt also was a complete pleasure.

This rod is my favorite rod for fishing lakes and I have four rods of this taper. I like it because I can cast about 70' of line plus another 15>20 feet of leader while sitting in my pontoon boat fishing chironomid patterns. Not only does it cast well but is capable of handling a decent sized. trout. The taper is the  Paul young Para 15. Most  knowledgable bamboo users think of this rod as a Parabolic Taper.

This Dichersen 8014 taper is a new one to me and from the butt dimension,  it will cast like a cannon. While I've heard it rated for a 6 wt., I would think that it could carry a 7 as well. Fianlly spring broke enough that I could lawn cast this rod. Casts very well out to 75' or so.
